Let’s Discuss! Bookish Love

Okay, so we all know, it’s Valentine’s Day this Sunday. And it’s time to stop ignoring it.

I’ve never made a big thing out of Valentine’s Day, and I will be even less this year for a couple of reasons (I’m single for the first time in a few years). But it’s only right to join in with the love, so today I’m going to be talking about some of my favourite swoony quotes!

So…without further ado, let’s get started!

“He talked about the ocean between people. And how the whole point of everything is to find a shore worth swimming to.”- Simon and The Homo Sapiens Agenda, Becky Albertalli

I love you, a thousand times over. And I will never apologize for it.”- The Wrath and The Dawn, Renee Ahdieh

“You make me lovely, and it’s so lovely to be lovely to the one I love.…” – All The Bright Places, Jennifer Niven

“I wish friends held hands more often, like the children I see on the streets sometimes. I’m not sure why we have to grow up and get embarrassed about it.” – Anna and The French Kiss, Stephanie Perkins (I know this isn’t exactly swoony but oh-so-adorable)

“I don’t like you, Park. Sometimes I think I live for you” – Eleanor & Park, Rainbow Rowell

“He’s still looking in my eyes. Staring me down like he did that dragon, chin tilted and locked. “I’m not the Chosen One,” he says.
I meet his gaze and sneer. My arm is a steel band around his waist. “I choose you,” I say. “Simon Snow, I choose you.” – Carry On, Rainbow Rowell

“Thomas Edison’s last words were “It’s very beautiful over there“. I don’t know where there is, but I believe it’s somewhere, and I hope it’s beautiful.” – Looking for Alaska, John Green

“He was kissing me like we were both on fire and he was trying to put the flames out, and I kissed him back like an arsonist with a pocketful of matches.”- Night Owls/The Anatomical Shape of a Heart, Jenn Bennett

“I gave up practically the whole world for you,” I tell him, walking through the front door of my own love story. “The sun, stars, ocean, trees, everything, I gave it all up for you.”- I’ll Give You The Sun, Jandy Nelson

“I must, then, repeat continually that we are forever saundered – and yet while I breathe and think, I must love him.” – Jane Eyre, Charlotte Bronte

I’ll also be recording a video for Saturday’s BookTube day about Bookish Boyfriends/Girlfriends so look out for that!

May your shelves forever overflow with books! ☽
