Myshelf & I: Personal Updates

Hi everyone! I just wanted to ramble talk a little about the past week for me in real life, it’s been a busy one!

So…what’s been happening?

I’m an idiot. I fell of my bed.

Well, that’s not the full story. I did fall off my bed and I am an idiot, but I also managed to bruise my foot and crack the corner of my laptop. You see, at the time I didn’t notice the laptop thing. I knew I’d kicked it, but it wasn’t until the next morning when I opened my screen and saw the crack.

Don’t worry, my laptop is still useable! I just lost a couple of inches of the screen at the top of the screen which have now blacked out, and it’s gone mega, mega slow if you have more than one tab open. So I’m finding it a little difficult to adjust to such a small screen.

I got into college!

On the same day that I found out I had cracked my laptop (and many other stupid unlucky little things happened), I happened to have a college interview. I couldn’t help but think, after having such a crap day, it could only get worse. But my luck changed, and my advice session/interview went really well! I’m obviously nervous but extremely excited to start in September this year doing Media & Journalism.

I met Cassandra Clare today!

Both me and Emma had been wondering for weeks whether to go to this – being one of few signings she’s doing in the UK, we knew we’d end up queuing for ages. But finally, we gave in to temptation and headed off with our parabatai drawn-on arms and rune-art nails to spend most of the day in a queue.

But it was totally worth it! We were very lucky to meet Anna, who was in the queue behind us and whom we spent the whole 5 hours chatting to! It was great to spend some time with another fan and really helped pass the time.

And then, 5 hours (and a couple of annoying people pushing into the queue) later, the main event. We. Met. Cassandra. Clare!

Now, I only read the first book of The Mortal Instruments this week, in fact I only completed it earlier today. But I loved it. And to be there around so many people that have religiously read, watched and loved these books…that alone was amazing.

Anyway, I’m going to stop rambling now and get some well-deserved rest after all of that standing and waiting! Thanks for reading, and look out for my review of City of Bones tomorrow!

May your shelves forever overflow with books! ☽
