Myshelf & I: Personal Stuff!

Hi guys! Today I’m just going to do a little talk about things I’ve been up to recently and that are coming up both in my life and on the blog.

I went to see David Cross last night

As I’m sure many of you know, Arrested Development is my absolute favourite TV show at the moment, and I’m addicted to it! So when I saw David, who plays Tobias in the show, was touring the UK doing stand-up comedy, I had to go and see him. But I have to say, I was unfortunately a little disappointed.

The bluntest way to put it is he’s very extreme, and although a lot of it was funny, it was only funny if you forgot he was talking about raping children. As my friend put it, he comes across a little bit of an asshole. And looking back on the show today, he kind of was. But all that aside, I still had fun and there were times when I didn’t think I’d be able to stop laughing (in a good, lighthearted way!). I just wish the entire show had been like that.

My college taster day came through

For those of you that don’t know, a taster day is basically a sample of college. So I’ll be going in for a day next month to meet my fellow students and hopefully make some friends before I start in September!

I’ve started a Tumblr & Animal Crossing project with an awesome friend

I don’t think I’ve mentioned this on here yet, but some people will also know I love Animal Crossing & Nintendo with a passion! So my good friend (and gaming blogger) Jeff & I decided to start an Arrested Development (he introduced me to the show, by the way!) themed Animal Crossing town and a Tumblr page to go along with it.

Books & blog

I’m finally getting back into the routine of reading

After my exams I got stuck in a major reading slump, and it’s been taking me a week (or more) to get through one book. I just haven’t found the motivation to pick up a book and read, but it’s finally coming back!

After my next review, I’m going to stop reading requested books

One of the reasons I haven’t been reading as much is because it takes me a long time to get through books when I’m under pressure to read them, or if they’re not my usual genre. So for the enjoyment of my readers, I’m going to stop taking requests and start reading whatever I want, whenever I want.

This might not be forever, though! Although I need to take the pressure off my shoulders for now, I may start reading for authors/publishing companies again later this year.

Sorry if this wasn’t very interesting, guys! I just wanted to let you all know what’s happening in my life and with the blog at the moment.

So, how are my dear readers?

May your shelves forever overflow with books! ☽
