Hi everyone! Sorry I haven’t been here for the past couple of days, I’ve been away and without internet but I’m fully back now hopefully.
It’s just over a month until Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children is released here in the UK as a movie. And I have to admit, I’m extremely excited.
I adored the books, and found them incredibly beautiful and quirky. I’m not quite sure how well they’ll transfer to the screen, but we’ll see.
For those of you who haven’t yet seen the (similar) trailers, take a look:
I have mixed reviews of the trailers so far. It’s honestly mostly positive – in fact it must be at least 90% that way. I love the actors – and with Tim Burton as director how can we go wrong?! But I did notice a couple of things:
- Emma is a manipulator of air, not fire
- Miss Peregrine herself is much younger than I’d pictured her! Just me?
- It’s going to be freaking scary
- Parts of Hollow City may be included?
- What the…that boat?!
So it’s not sticking word for word to the books…is that a bad thing?
I have one condition with movies – I don’t mind them straying from the book, if it’s done well.
You see, Naomi & Ely was done very well, they tweaked the parts that needed tweaking. But Paper Towns…in my opinion, the ending should have stuck to the book.
We’ll just have to wait and see if this one impresses me or disappoints!
May your shelves forever overflow with books! ☽
