Today’s theme sounds great! I adore settings in books, and in this post I’m going to be able to talk about some of my favourite ones!
You Were Here holds the proud title of containing my favourite settings in any YA novel. The whole abandoned buildings idea was so unique…it really got to me.
I am a lover (and frequent visitor!) of Wales, and Cairnholm really reflected the culture there! Also definitely counts as a spooky setting 😉
Jane Eyre is Gothic literature, and it shows through in streaks in this classic. The whole idea is a little…spooky, and so is the setting! I’m sure that house is haunted.
It’s not so much the setting and more of the plot that’s spooky about this one! Also, I can see how grandma would fit too.
This is actually the same – but I also found the setting to be pretty spooky in We Were Liars.
Which setting do you find most spooky in YA?
May your shelves forever overflow with books! ☽
