Let’s Discuss! Why Reading Helped Me Write a Script

Hi bookworms! You may remember about a month ago I wrote a post about how I was struggling to write a script? Well, today I’m here to prove myself wrong!

I touched upon a few reasons I was struggling with writing a script for college in that post – but in the end I think I was wrong! I’ve actually realised the past few days that in some ways, reading helped me write.

But I had a task the last week that I found very interesting. We had to read the first scene of our scripts and draw the characters and what was happening! Out of my class of 21, I was one of the only students who could draw a detailed scene including clothing, wall decorations and furniture.

So what’s my point among my tired rambling? If reading didn’t help with anything else – it did help me with a massive (and one of the most important parts) of my script. The detail. Through reading, I found it very easy to write descriptively, and I think that helped set the scene of my story really nicely.

Do you find reading helps you in other parts of life?
