T5W: Fictional Items I’d Give As Gifts

Top 5 Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Lainey. You get a new topic every Wednesday, and you list your Top 5 books related to that topic. If you’d like to take part, join the Goodreads group, and add your name to the list of bloggers & booktubers!

As you readers probably know, fantasy isn’t my #1 genre! So I might find this hard…but I’m still going to give it a go 🙂

1.A Babel Fish!

If you’re not sure what a Babel Fish is, it’s a fictional item from The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams. If I remember rightly – you simply insert the Babel fish into your ear and can understand every single language!

2. A lightsaber

Who wouldn’t want their form of protection to be a super cool lightsaber? Maybe a disappearing one or something…they’d be kind of hard to hide 😛 (I know it’s not from a book, shh).

3. A wand

I know a lot of people have talked about Harry Potter wands in their posts – but I’m going to be different and say I’d like Simon’s wand from Carry On by Rainbow Rowell (no, that’s not a euphemism!)!

4. Inej’s leather slippers

If you haven’t read Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo, Inej has some lovely leather slippers with rubber souls that allow her to be a ninja! They sound very useful – my boots always rub me.

5. Aladdin’s lamp

And again, who wouldn’t want this one? I’m sure everyone would love 3 wishes…although I don’t think I know what I’d wish for!

What fictional item would you give as a gift – to yourself or others?
