We’re into my top 3 and veering into something completely different. I had real difficulty picking between the top 3 books – in fact, today’s book could have very easily nabbed the top spot. But why not?
Because today’s book is different. And although it may be one of my favourite books of all time, it is also a movie. Why does that matter, I hear you ask? Some books do become movies?
Well, this book was written on the set of the movie. It didn’t really come first. And because they’re exactly the same – how do I know which is better? The book or the movie?
So although I am utterly and completely in love with this book, I am more in love with the idea. The concept. I’m in love with this book as a narrative, story and simply the way it exists in my head.
Before I continue, here are my Bookmas posts about my 12th-4th favourite books of 2017.
Book 12: Geekerella by Ashley Poston
Book 11: Caraval by Stephanie Garber
Book 10: The Next Together by Lauren James
Book 9: Wing Jones Katherine Webber
Book 8: One of Us is Lying by Karen M McManus
Book 7: Songs About a Girl by Chris Russell
Book 6: The Loneliest Girl in the Universe by Lauren James
Book 5: A Quiet Kind of Thunder by Sara Barnard
Book 4: Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon
So although the book above is in some ways arguably the book I most enjoyed this year – I cannot bring myself to say it was my favourite as a book. And that reason, if it makes any sense at all, is why it comes in at number 3.
