It’s the first Top 5 Wednesday of the year and we’re welcoming in 2018 with my reading resolutions! I love the look of this months topics and I can’t wait to dive in. I’m throwing in some blogging resolutions to mix it up a little as I did talk a bit about my reading goals in last weeks T5W post.
1.Read 50 books
As I discussed last week, I’m going to stick to my annual 50 book goal. I managed it this year along with college and I’m hoping I’ll be able to do it again!
2. Blog most days
I’ve definitely noticed my views, likes, comments and interactions improving over the past week and I know it’s due to me finally picking up the pace and blogging most days again! This year, I’d love to continue blogging most days and interacting with all my other bloggers – I love you guys.
3. Improve…write…improve
Along with blogging most days, I’d like to write good and interesting posts most days. I want to put some more effort into making this blog the best it can be!
4. Buy less books
I have around 50 unread books, so that should actually last me a year…I think that should push me enough to save money and stop buying. Or at least budget and control my buying a little better!
5. Decrease my TBR
A couple of hours ago, I had over 620 books on my Goodreads want-to-read list. Now, I have 497 and it’s going down! I’ve spent my evening going through and removing books that don’t sound interesting anymore – because my tastes have changed and that’s natural! It feels great to have a bookish detox.
What are your goals for 2018?

My reading goal is 50 books too! I also want to post more regularly — and post good content, not just stuff to have something for a certain day or something (like filler posts, which I had a habit of doing awhile ago). I also have a bunch of unread books that I’ve purchased and need to read ASAP this year! Great post! Good luck with your goals and resolutions! 🙂

Good luck, I hope we both manage to do it! It’s such hard work and I hate having to do filler posts too but it has to be done sometimes. Thank you! 🙂

I definitely understand the fact that views really do go up when you post a lot. I took a break from blogging until just after Christmas, and I’ve had almost 300 views with my daily positing since then. It’s kind of insane!

That’s awesome to know! It’s hard work, but I’m sure we can both do it 🙂 Good luck!

I desperately need to re-evaluate my Goodreads TBR because it has finally broke 400 titles and that is just way too intimidating! Good luck with your resolutions this year!

I can’t believe I had so many, I just couldn’t cope with facing that many books anymore! Especially as a lot of them I had added a couple of years ago now and I’m not interested in them anymore. Thank you! And good look evaluating your TBR too 🙂

I set a lower goal this year on Goodreads (77 down to 56) so that I could read more tomes – especially the ones that I own. I’d also like to read at least one book in Spanish (my first language). If I only manage one, it will most likely be Don Quixote.
I also want to blog more frequently and review more of the books I read.
Good luck, Beth 🙂

That’s awesome, you can buy books in other language editions! I’m so jealous – I love a lot of Japanese editions of books and I wish I could read them.
Good luck too, and thank you 🙂
