I’m not going to lie, this isn’t exactly my favourite topic. And we’ve been warned against using HP teachers! I’m sorry, this is a difficult one and those books include some of the best teachers in literature…so I’m breaking that rule.
Harry Potter has never even heard of Hogwarts when the letters start dropping on the doormat at number four, Privet Drive. Addressed in green ink on yellowish parchment with a purple seal they are swiftly confiscated by his grisley aunt and uncle. Then, on Harry’s eleventh birthday, a great beetle-eyed giant of a man called Rubeus Hagrid bursts in with some astonishing news: Harry Potter is a wizard, and he has a place at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
An incredible adventure is about to begin!
Of course, these are naturally the best teacher realted books, right? I have to go with the one and only Albus Dumbledore, becuase um, he’s incredible?
Matilda is a sweet, exceptional young girl, but her parents think she’s just a nuisance. She expects school to be different but there she has to face Miss Trunchbull, a kid-hating terror of a headmistress. When Matilda is attacked by the Trunchbull she suddenly discovers she has a remarkable power with which to fight back. It’ll take a superhuman genius to give Miss Trunchbull what she deserves and Matilda may be just the one to do it!
I’m not one to usually include childrens books, but Miss Honey did jump out at me! I remember loving her character as a kid.
Whisked away from his comfortable, unambitious life in his hobbit-hole in Bag End by Gandalf the wizard and a company of dwarves, Bilbo Baggins finds himself caught up in a plot to raid the treasure hoard of Smaug the Magnificent, a large and very dangerous dragon…
And to finish up, because I’m sorry but this topic is so difficult, I’m going to change things up and talk about someone who would make a great teacher. I think you know who I’m going to say…it’s Gandalf everyone!
So we’re going to have to end things there guys, because this topic is so difficult for me! I’m sure there are many more awesome teachers out there but I can’t think of them right now.
Which teachers did you come up with?
May your shelves forever overflow with books! ☽
