Twelve Days of Christmas – Day 12
Hi lovely readers! IT’S CHRISTMAS! I hope you’ve all had a truly wonderful day whether you celebrate Christmas or not. Of course I want to take a moment to thank you all for visiting my blog this festive season! Sharing my bookish life with you all is the best thing, so thank you for being such a lovely audience for my rambling ❤
I’d like to share with you a few bookish gifts I received today, with a full haul coming later in the week!
On the first day of Christmas, my true love gave to me …This beautiful collection features twelve gorgeously romantic stories set during the festive period, by some of the most talented and exciting YA authors writing today. The stories are filled with the magic of first love and the magic of the holidays.
Yesterday, Josh and I gave each other little Christmas Eve boxes and books! I gave him a new movie edition of the Mortal Engines and he gave me this beauty!
Newt, Tina, Queenie, and Jacob, the beloved heroes of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, are back! In this second adventure, they’re joined by fan favourites from the Harry Potter universe, including Albus Dumbledore, Nicolas Flamel, and the villainous Gellert Grindelwald. Officially licensed by Warner Bros. Consumer Products and designed by MinaLima – the creative force behind the graphics and many of the props for the first Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them as well as the Harry Potter films – this authorised tie-in compendium delivers a rich and unique ‘making of’ experience for fans of all ages.
Today, I received many more gifts from him, including a lot of Harry Potter themed presents! They included this beautiful book which I’ve had fun flicking through today.
The dream chooses the dreamer, not the other way around—and Lazlo Strange, war orphan and junior librarian, has always feared that his dream chose poorly. Since he was five years old he’s been obsessed with the mythic lost city of Weep, but it would take someone bolder than he to cross half the world in search of it. Then a stunning opportunity presents itself, in the person of a hero called the Godslayer and a band of legendary warriors, and he has to seize his chance or lose his dream forever.
What happened in Weep two hundred years ago to cut it off from the rest of the world? What exactly did the Godslayer slay that went by the name of god? And what is the mysterious problem he now seeks help in solving? The answers await in Weep, but so do more mysteries—including the blue-skinned goddess who appears in Lazlo’s dreams. How did he dream her before he knew she existed? And if all the gods are dead, why does she seem so real?
I also got a few more books from my friends, including Strange the Dreamer from my lovely friend and co-blogger Pete! I’ve had this book on my TBR for a long time and I’m really looking forward to picking it up eventually.
Did you have a nice day and get anything nice for Christmas?
May your shelves forever overflow with books! ☽
