Let’s Discuss! New Bookshelves

Hi readers! Something very exciting happened recently – I got brand new bookshelves. This is because my boyfriend and I have recently moved into our own apartment, and we bought a couple of bookshelves to house our collections.

As you may notice, I added extra shelves to my bookcases so I could add more paperbacks! I moved my abnormally large hardbacks to the smaller bookcase, where I left height for them. Other than that, I only had a few rules for organising my books.

  1. Don’t split series apart!
  2. Don’t split different editions of the same book apart.
  3. It’s okay to split different books by the same author apart as long as they’re not series.

Using these few rules, I created a beautiful hardback shelf, a few series shelves on both bookcases and my lovely boyfriend helped me create a gorgeous rainbow shelf which is mostly contemporaries!

The only thing I regret is not making myself a TBR shelf/section, but it wouldn’t be practical as I have many unread half-series etc! I’ll keep dreaming about storing my TBR in one of these instead…

How do you organise your shelves?

T5W: Items on Your Bookshelf

Top 5 Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Lainey. You get a new topic every Wednesday, and you list your Top 5 books related to that topic. If you’d like to take part, join the Goodreads group, and add your name to the list of bloggers & booktubers!

Hi readers! I’m very happy with this weeks topic as I get to trawl my way through old topics from before I joined this meme. I’ve chosen something very different, and I’m going to talk about items on my bookshelves.

I actually keep a lot of possessions in front of my books/in the corners of my bookshelves. I’m going to list just a few of them below!

Candles are the first thing that came to mind, because I love them! My favourite candle is definitely my Woodwick candle, which I found second hand for only £2.50.

I adore this mug, and I keep makeup in it to stop it getting worn.

Image result for stranger things neon light

I bought this light for my boyfriend for Christmas, and it looks so awesome at night.

Image result for miss peregrine funko pop

I have a couple of bookish Funko Pops, including the one above.

The only section of our bookshelves that are actually donated to something other than books is for our MTG cards! My boyfriend and I have started teaching ourselves how to play Magic and we’re both loving it so far.

What do you have on your bookshelf?
