Hi all! I started back at uni last week so these couple of weeks are going to be very busy. I’m really trying to plan so I can fit everything in the next couple of days! I’ve been working hard on something exciting, and I’ve mentioned this a couple of times now.

So I’m very happy to announce I have something brand new coming to the blog TOMORROW! I’m so looking forward to sharing my secret project with you all. Anyway, today’s quote comes from a YA classic, The Hunger Games.

Beautiful Quotes #111 / The Sun is Also a Star

Beautiful Quotes is a weekly meme hosted by me, where I post some of my favourite quotes. Any other bloggers are welcome to join me in this and just link my blog!

It’s been a busy week! I started back at uni after the Christmas/New Year break, and I have a deadline this Friday so I’ve been working hard on that project all day today.

I also went shopping with some lovely friends and visited family over the weekend. I’m still reading The Mortal Instruments and I love this series! I finished City of Ashes last night (review coming tomorrow!) and I started City of Glass today.

Onto a very different story now but one I love just as much. Today’s beautiful quote comes from The Sun is Also a Star by Nicola Yoon. I thought this one was fitting as the movie is being released this summer and I’m very excited for it!

“There’s a Japanese phrase that I like: koi no yokan. It doesn’t mean love at first sight. It’s closer to love at second sight. It’s the feeling when you meet someone that you’re going to fall in love with them. Maybe you don’t love them right away, but it’s inevitable that you will.”

Beautiful Quotes #109 / Almost Midnight by Rainbow Rowell

Beautiful Quotes is a weekly meme hosted by me, where I post some of my favourite quotes. Any other bloggers are welcome to join me in this and just link my blog!

Hi readers! I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and is still enjoying the festive season 🙂 For me, it’s incredibly calm at the moment, that lovely period between Christmas and New Year when you don’t even know the day of the week. Neither me or my boyfriend go back to uni/work until next week, and I am absolutely treasuring this time.

The past week have been full of visiting family, relaxing, watching films, reading, playing games and squeezing in some uni work for me! I finished Clockwork Princess last night and my review of the wondrous book is going up tomorrow. I’m taking a break to read My True Love Gave to Me before I pick up The Mortal Instruments!

Today’s book actually includes a short story from My True Love Gave to Me by Rainbow Rowell, alongside some beautiful illustrations and another of her short stories, Kindred Spirits. Although I have my own problems with this book, I do adore the collectable factor and how gorgeous it is in real life!

Beautiful Quotes #108 / The Twelve Days of Dash and Lily

Twelve Days of Christmas – Day 4

Beautiful Quotes is a weekly meme hosted by me, where I post some of my favourite quotes. Any other bloggers are welcome to join me in this and just link my blog!

Hello my lovely readers! I can’t believe that in exactly a weeks time it’ll be Christmas Eve! What a lovely thought. I’m definitely feeling more festive now I have a break from uni, and I’m spending the next week preparing and baking before the big day. But what have I been up to this past week?

  • As I mentioned above, I finished uni! My last week before Christmas was a very busy and stressful one, so I’m very glad to have a rest.
  • I saw my lovely friend and co-blogger Pete on Saturday and I took him to my favourite bookshop for the first time.
  • I took my other half Josh up to Manchester to see the Christmas market there! I love it more than our local market and it was lovely to show him the city.
  • On a reading front, I have finally finally started The Infernal Devices! I’ve almost finished the first book and I’m loving it.

Now onto a very different kind of story with The Twelve Days of Dash and Lily! I read this book last Christmas and it definitely made me feel festive.

Beautiful Quotes #103 / I’ll Give You the Sun

Beautiful Quotes is a weekly meme hosted by me, where I post some of my favourite quotes. Any other bloggers are welcome to join me in this and just link my blog!

Hi everyone! So what’s happened in the past week?

  • Last Monday I visited the lovely city of Manchester and I saw Ransom Riggs in conversation and attended his signing! It was so cool to meet him.
  • Christmas is getting closer and closer, so I’ve been planning and buying presents and we’ve eaten our first mince pies (if you haven’t heard of these, don’t worry they don’t have meat in!).
  • I’ve also been at uni as usual and carrying on with planning my second module.

On the blog front, this week I posted my first section of my shelves masterlist, and published a brand new page! Today I’m back with a Beautiful Quote from I’ll Give You the Sun, a book that I’ve actually not posted a quote from before. I read it before I started this blog, and I definitely need to re-read it and post a review at some point!

Beautiful Quotes #100 / They Both Die at the End

I read They Both Die at the End not too long ago and enjoyed it a lot! You can see my review here. I thought as I’m currently finishing my Adam Silvera collection with History is All You Left Me, I’d have a tiny throwback to this beautiful book.

Beautiful Quotes #97 / Alex, Approximately

Beautiful Quotes is a weekly meme hosted by me, where I post some of my favourite quotes. Any other bloggers are welcome to join me in this and just link my blog!

Welcome October! Autumn is in full swing here in the UK, and the end of September means I’m happy to say that I blogged every day of September excluding Sundays. I also managed to read quite a few more books than I expected to, which is awesome. You’ll be able to see a full wrap up on Friday!

I’m reading a lot of contemporaries at the moment (I’m just about to start If I Stay), and even though I miss fantasy a lot, I thought I’d use this post to celebrate one of my favourtie contemporaries. It’s been over a year now since I read Alex, Approximately and I absolutely loved that book. It’s so underrated, and I thought I’d share a beautiful quote with you from it.
